“My goal is to have fun, break records, and be a positive voice and influence on the sport.”

SEBASTIAN

Sebastian Salsbury is a professional trail runner from California with an unwavering passion for trail running, who has grown up in the world and culture of ultrarunning, mentored by some of the legends of the sport since the age of 7. Recognized as a “Youth Pioneer” and widely credited as the voice for youth inclusion and acceptance in trail running, he continues to positively influence the sport.

Before reaching 18, he completed 50 trail races, gained experience far beyond his age, authored trail running articles, and was featured in an award-winning short documentary, “Sebastian and Max’s Grand Canyon Adventure.”

In 2024, shortly after his eighteenth birthday, armed with a full decade of trail and ultrarunning experience, Sebastian announced he would turn pro. With the support of his family, coach, and elite trail running mentors, Sebastian aims to redefine what’s possible, and help shape the future of the sport. As Sebastian says, “From as far back as I can remember my goal was to one day be one of the greats of the sport. I raced for years against adults as a kid. Now I’m ready to start the journey competing against the best in the sport, on equal ground, as an adult.
